They are designed to challenge the most hardcore of players. There are hundreds of songs available for all skill levels. Under-charted versions are regularly included. Once you start playing the advanced custom charts you should expect your skill levels to improve fast.
My first Guitar Hero Track Pack, released in The song used for an example is "Nottingham Lace" by Buckethead. Under "B", you will scroll down to find the artist Buckethead, and the song Nottingham Lace. Notice that there are multiple links for the same song. Click on the link next to "Puppetz". The link will take you to a separate forum, which contains FoF user Puppetz. Scroll down to the list of songs, and find Nottingham Lace once again, and click on the download link on the right.
This will take you to an external site where you can download the song. Download the song from the external website. You will again need to use your file extractor to extract the files from the download into another folder. Find the "Add" tab, click on it, and under that, click on "New Song". This will open a pop up where you will add the song files. If you are following the example, type in "nottinghamlace" in the Song Name section.
After that, go down to where it says "Guitar Track", and click on the " Now you will locate the folder where you extracted the song files to. Open the guitar. You can preview the guitar. Next, go down to "Chart File", and click on the " Open the notes. Once these steps are completed, click on "Apply" in the top right of the pop up. This will take you to another pop up, "Song Properties". Here, you will enter the song title, Artist, and Year optional.
Once this is done, click on "Apply" once again. Add the song to one of the in-game setlists. For this example, a separate new setlist will be created to add the song to. Click on "Create Setlist". If you fail to keep up with the notes or miss too many, the crowd will turn on you, failing the song.
Luckily, there are four difficulty levels to choose from, each one providing a significant step up in challenge. At the end of each song, you're given a star rating based on your performance. There are a variety of modes to choose from in Guitar Hero 3, providing plenty of different ways to rock with your friends.
In addition to the single-player and cooperative Career modes, players can enjoy fierce, competitive multiplayer matches both locally and online. Besides the standard score-based face-offs, you can challenge opponents in Battle mode, where players earn power-ups that can be used to disrupt the other player.
As you play Guitar Hero 3, you'll also earn coins which can be spent in the in-game store, unlocking new songs to play. There are over two dozen extra songs to unlock, giving players plenty of reason to keep coming back for more.
